Important Info About Heat Pumps

A good heat pump installation is a finely tuned combination of mechanical and electrical design and engineering resulting in a system optimised for you and your building. It will provide you with warmth, comfort, savings and a great deal of satisfaction.

A poor heat pump installation is a cheap, quickly put together, miss match of components resulting in a poorly planned and un-optimised system. It will provide you with frustration and very little in the way of savings.

Our team of in house engineers are registered in, MCS, Gas Safe, F Gas, and NICEIC. This gives our team complete in house cover when dealing with ‘anything heat pumps.’

Insulation

Perhaps the most important aspect of a heat pump system, even though it has no direct connection with any of the installation process.’ However, without good insulation you are simply leaking heat, heating up the atmosphere, and paying for it! As heat pump systems run at lower temperatures, typically 35°c - 55°c it is imperative that your building retains the heat. Prior to a heat pump installation you must ensure your insulation levels in your floors, walls, lofts, ceilings, rafters, doors and windows are as good as they can be. EESY will be able to assist you with this. Equally as important is draught proofing of any leaky joints in doors and windows and any other gaps within floors, walls and roofs.

Survey (crucial)

The survey is required to not only ascertain these insulation levels but also all associated U values of each and every room of the house so that we can build a complete picture of the buildings envelope. Once we have this information, complete with any of the existing radiators if sizing up a retro fit we are able to take it with us and start to use it as the basis of our design for your system.
Design (crucial)

From the gathered information we are able to use our software to produce a heat loss calculation.

Once we have all the relevant values along with some other important information such as; location design temperature, height above sea level, occupants within the property etc. we are able to start to put some components together to match the system’s parameters.

MCS Standards

It is worth mentioning that any heat pump installation wanting to qualify for any kind of government incentive will have to adhere to these standards.

All heat pump products installed by EESY are MCS registered and all heat pump installations carried out by EESY are done to the MCS standards meaning whether commercial or domestic you will be able to receive any RHPP or RHI payments, which of course everybody wants!
Full Breakdown Of System And Performance
It is important you receive a full breakdown of the proposed system from physical components (including the heat pump it’s self) right through to projected output and what assumptions that output is based on.

In our case it will be hard facts of building material U values constituting heat loss, combined with climatic data, combined with manufacturer’s product data.

From this we can present the all important pounds and pence figures that represent savings and earnings in RHI payments.

Installation

Or dot to dot as our designers call it! Some installs go easier than others.

However, providing all the correct components specified at the design stage are on site and everybody is reading off the same hymn sheet installing a heat pump system at this stage is just like piping up a conventional boiler system, only with the heat pump in place of the boiler.
Warranty And Guarantee
All our heat pumps come with warranties, some with up to 5 years! Our warranty on parts and services is for a period of 2 years on all installs.
Demonstration & Handover Pack
Each of our customers receives a handover pack with full details of their system, system components and operating instructions. It is important these are kept in a safe location, preferably in close proximity to the heat pump for future service engineers and maintenance.

Remember the heat pump system could be in place for upwards of 20 years.

If you sell the property it is important to ensure any details are handed over to the new tenants. Upon completion of the heat pump installation we will give a full demonstration of how it works and the controls.

RHI
Financially, this is one of the most important factors in deciding whether or not somebody decides they shall have a heat pump, but don’t worry about the paperwork.

We complete all RHI paperwork together with you so as to ensure a smooth application without leaving you with what can be a complex time consuming task.
Maintenance
All our heat pumps come with a FREE 1 year maintenance plan. During this period we hope to be able to work with you in order to be on hand to advise and educate you to use your new system to its optimum efficiency and comfort.

Your relationship with your heat pump is like any other, the more time you spend together, the more you will get to know each other!
